April 1988 Saga Junior College’s Home Economics Course renamed Department of Living and Welfare, Food and Nutrition Studies Course renamed Department of Food and Nutrition, and Preschool Education Course renamed Department of Preschool Education; Saga Junior College’s Department of Living and Welfare designated as a training institution for certified care worker candidates
April 1989 Advanced Course of Care and Welfare established at Saga Junior College
February 1995 National Recreation Association of Japan certified Nishikyushu University as a training institution for therapeutic recreation workers and recreation instructors
April 1995 Advanced Course of Food and Nutrition established at Saga Junior College
September 1996 Nagahara Educational Corporation celebrated its 50th anniversary
September 1998 Special lectures held in commemoration of Nishikyushu University’s 30th anniversary

April 2002 Course for acquiring national care worker certification established within the Faculty of Health and Social Welfare Sciences’ Department of Social Welfare Sciences; Clinical Psychology Course established within the Graduate School’s Health and Social Welfare Graduate Program
March 2003 Health and Social Welfare Graduate Program’s Clinical Psychology Course designated as a qualifying course (Class II) for eligibility for the certified clinical psychologist examination
September 2003 Saga Junior College project selected as a Distinctive University Education Support Program by the Ministry of Education
April 2004 Department of Living Environment Studies established at Saga Junior College
April 2005 Saga Junior College accredited by the Japan Association for College Accreditation
April 2006 Saga Junior College’s Department of Preschool Education renamed Department of Early Child and Education; Saga Junior College’s joint project with other junior colleges in Saga prefecture selected as a Support Program for Contemporary Educational Needs by the Ministry of Education(MEXT)
April 2007 Faculty of Rehabilitation Sciences with the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences established; Saga Junior College’s Sanko Daycare Center established
August 2007 Saga Junior College project selected as an Adult Students Re-learning Needs Supporting Program by MEXT(Ministry of Education)
April 2009 School of Children’s Studies with the Department of Children’s Studies established at Nishikyushu University; Special Support Education and Career Development Courses established within Nishikyushu University’s Faculty of Health and Social Welfare Sciences; Saga Junior College renamed Nishikyushu University Junior College
